Helping The Community

Every one of our foundry and machining plants make a point of sourcing materials from local channels. No less than 90% of all materials purchased originate from the country in which they’ll eventually be used.

This greatly reduces emissions generated through transportation.

The MAT Foundry Group may well be a global business but distribute castings locally in the main. The fact we have bases in three major continents allows for this.

In fact, we’ve calculated that sourcing from nearby suppliers saves 10,000kg of CO2 per 24MT shipped compared to shipping from the Far East.

Much of this is down to the removal of sea freight and long truck journeys alike, all but eliminating fuel consumption and with it air pollution.

Moreover, this approach helps local economies and ensures we do our bit for the communities in which we operate.
