Raw Materials

Reducing Our Environmental Impact

Combined the MAT Foundry Group now purchase 95% of all raw materials used in the manufacture of automotive components.

Modern cast components originate from scrap and similar used materials, most of which can be re-imagined after use, often into the very next part.

This allows us to reduce our environmental impact without ever compromising on operating efficiency.

The MAT Foundry Group handles 300,000 tonnes a year, this made up of steel, cast iron and car iron baring scrap respectively.

We’re proud to say that in 2021 fewer materials are being discarded for actual waste than at any point in our near 30-year history.
