Role: Machine Shop Superintendent
Year of Apprenticeship: Graduate
Luke left school without any clear idea of what he wanted to do, jumping from job to job. He decided he wanted to work with his hands and to build a career so decided to look into apprenticeships.
MAT Foundry Group offered Luke the opportunity to develop new skills, work in a practical role and give him the opportunity to progress.
Being given the opportunity to learn about the entire business he was able to find a role that really suited him and quickly found his place in the machine shop.
Having completed his apprenticeship Luke is now the Machine shop Superintendent for Eurac, Poole having been with the company for just 5 years.
Luke feels that the apprenticeship gave him the structure to grow as a person and to grow up, unlocking his potential. The apprenticeship scheme and his role since have allowed him to undertake and pass a number of courses including management qualifications.
Luke hopes to progress further in the business.
