Role: Pattern Shop Apprentice
Year of Apprenticeship: 1
Mike became interested in engineering when he was 8 years old whilst spending time with his grandfather tinkering with machines in his shed.
A keen miniature steam engine enthusiast, Mike’s self-taught knowledge, attention to detail and methodical approach makes him ideal for the pattern shop where precision and quality is key.
Born and raised in Wareham, England, Mike joined MAT Foundry Group’s Eurac facility straight from school and is following in his grandfather’s footsteps working as a machinist.
Although only a few weeks into his apprenticeship, Mike has already noticed a change in his work ethic and approach to problem solving.
In this spare time Mike enjoys Rugby and working on miniature steam engines in his own, custom built workshop.
