MAT Foundry Group at EuroBrake 2025 - Pushing Sustainable Brake Innovation
MAT Foundry Group was proud to attend EuroBrake 2025, held from June 3–5 at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
As one of the most important events in the braking calendar, EuroBrake continues to offer a vital platform for collaboration, discussion, and exploration of the industry's evolving landscape. This year’s edition was no exception, bringing together experts from across the globe to address shared challenges and opportunities.
Unsurprisingly, the upcoming Euro 7 legislation remained the dominant topic throughout the event: shaping conversations, influencing R&D priorities, and driving forward the search for cleaner, more efficient braking solutions. Closely tied to this was the ongoing focus on sustainability, not just in performance but across the full lifecycle of braking components.
Among the most pressing areas of interest was the reduction of PM10 brake dust emissions, which continues to present a significant technical challenge. At MAT Foundry Group, this remains a key focus of our R&D activity. Together with Azterlan, we are progressing in the evaluation of material innovations that can enhance wear resistance and support emission reduction goals. One such approach involves modifying the metallurgical structure of the disc, offering a potential low-cost, scalable solution for lightweight vehicle applications. In parallel, we are also actively testing and validating alternative technologies better suited to higher-performance platforms, ensuring our wider product portfolio can meet the full spectrum of Euro 7 requirements.
EuroBrake 2025 also served as a valuable opportunity to meet with industry partners, customers, and suppliers, reinforcing relationships and sparking new conversations about future mobility and shared goals.
We extend our thanks to Eurobrake for another expertly organised event, and to all those who contributed to its success. While Euro 7 presents a complex and evolving challenge, MAT Foundry Group remains fully engaged, actively developing practical, scalable solutions through focused R&D and industry collaboration. Events like EuroBrake reinforce the value of shared expertise as we work toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for braking technology.
